The Season's Trends
Short sleeves, a round or V-shaped neckline, no collar and typically made from soft cotton or rayon – these are the characteristics of T-shirts. Originally frowned upon as mere undershirts, they have paved their way to the world's catwalks over the decades. Some credit for this is due to: Marlon Brando and James Dean, who made this practical piece of clothing into an iconic item in the Fifties.
What to wear with short-sleeved shirts
While some T-shirts might seem totally simple and unremarkable, they can have a simply stupendous effect in the right combination. To create a cool look, all you need are boyfriend jeans, sneakers and a form-fitting white short-sleeved shirt. On the other hand, wearing T-shirts with floor-length skirts or short pleated skirts can be a skilful way to mix clashing styles. But T-shirts make a trusty companion for yoga, walks or cycling as well.
An extra tip
The current trend is for short-sleeved shirts in an oversized style. The good thing about shirts with an oversized fit: They really look good on anyone, regardless of age, dress size or figure. But it's important to play with contrasts when styling. The oversized shirt should always be in the foreground and not compete for attention with wide baggy trousers or a flowing skirt.
