The Season's Trends
Hardly any other item of clothing is as flexible, practical or uncomplicated as the waistcoat. Between seasons and for the ultra-modern layered look, these sleeveless overcoats are a great asset to any wardrobe. They keep you cosy and warm, without giving you that bulky winter feeling, and go with every outfit without dominating it.
What to wear with waistcoats
The waistcoat is a real styling wonder. You can create a charming country look by teaming it up with a shirt or a slim-fitting jean jacket. Chunky knitted polo neck jumpers with a thick scarf and a bobble hat create a touch of alpine flair. And in the blink of an eye, you can create a great city outfit with a long-sleeved shirt, a white blouse or, on colder days, a fluffy cashmere long jumper.
An extra tip
Waistcoats are available in every colour, length and stitch imaginable. Short styles lengthen the silhouette, longer shapes skirt the hips. The thicker the padding and the chunkier the stitch, the narrower it should get towards the bottom. Drainpipe jeans, stirrup leggings and a figure-hugging midi skirt are all ideal companions.
